Electronics Sector Participates in EPA Listening Session on Electronics Stewardship
Carole Mars represented TSC’s Electronics Sector at the Electronics Stewardship listening session hosted by the Interagency Task Force on Electronics Stewardship. Co-sponsored by the EPA, the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the General Services Administration, the goal for the session was to hear about experiences around e-waste, identify the challenges and opportunities within the e-waste industry (in the short and long term); and hear ideas for tackling the complexities of designing new electronics and managing used electronics sustainably. The task force was formed to develop recommendations around developing a federal policy for electronics stewardship and responsible asset management, with an emphasis on what the agencies can do within their current mandates. The listening session was one of three hosted at the CEQ headquarters in Washington, D.C. as part of stakeholder engagement in policy development. The recommendation of the task force will be published in mid-May.”
