Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. Joins The Sustainability Consortium
ARIZONA, USA, – September 3, 2013 – The Sustainability Consortium® (TSC®) is pleased to welcome Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR) as a new member. GMCR will be participating in the Food, Beverage, and Agriculture working group, as well as the Electronics and Packaging working groups. The company will also participate in the newly formed General Merchandise working group where knowledge products for small appliances, like personal coffee makers, are made.
As a leader in specialty coffee and coffee makers, GMCR is recognized for its award-winning coffees, innovative Keurig® brewing technology, and socially responsible business practices. GMCR supports local and global communities by investing in sustainably-grown coffee, and donating a portion of its profits to social and environmental projects.
“We’ve used Life Cycle Assessment internally for years to inform our decisions,” said Monique Oxender, Senior Director of Sustainability for GMCR. “It’s exciting to be able to share our experience and learn from others.”

The Food, Beverage, and Agriculture Sector is the largest sector at TSC and includes other iconic consumer brands such as Kellogg’s, MillerCoors, and PepsiCo, Inc. All TSC members will be joining together October 9-11 in Atlanta, Georgia for The Sustainability Consortium fall Member Summit.
