The Paper, Pulp and Forestry (PPF) Sector Working Group is an important focus of The Sustainability Consortium because of its integral role in supply chains across industry sectors. The working group leads the investigation of sustainability issues for a wide-variety of forestry products such as lumber, engineered wood products, books, facial tissue, and greeting cards. The work of the PPF Sector is used to inform SMRS development for Product Sustainability Toolkits and for paper-based packaging. As a result of working across the supply chain, from wood sourcing practices to solutions for product disposal, the working group is composed of a wide-variety of industry experts, non-profit organizations, and academic/research institutions.
