CASE STUDY
Since its launch in November 2019, the Wastewater 101 Toolbox has become the first ever global clearinghouse of information where anyone from the textiles industry can come to find relevant information about wastewater and its treatment.
The Toolbox has also been integrated into TSC’s wastewater KPIs to help support those assessing their supply chain performance.
The Toolbox is meant to be a place where actors in the textile industry can come, find the information they need to take action, and leave to go to those sites for more information.
The Toolbox is a living tool, one that will continue to grow and be updated. The next phase of the Toolbox will be to expand the features within each section and work towards creating incentives for action on treating wastewater.
The Toolbox will be expanding beyond the textile industry in the coming months to help all sectors of consumer goods.

An automotive washing and detailing business was looking to reduce water expense, both on the intake and disposal sides of the equation. They were using water in their business operations once and it was going directly to the drain and ultimately to the water treatment facility.
As a result of using tools in the TSC Wastewater 101 Toolbox, the company made an investment in a water recycling system that removed the solids and other impurities. This recycled water was able to be reused again in their operations. The company has been able to tout their water stewardship and conservation efforts in marketing materials and are able to support their claims with normalized water data.
